Use Google’s related searches

After you search a keyword in Google. Below the results, there is a section called Related searches.
I think finding using this is very easy.
But do you want some more in Detail?
I’m Going to teach you how to find these long tail Keywords in 3 Actionable Easy steps.
I’m also making Keyword research to find long tail keywords along with you
Actionable Steps to find long tail keywords.
After you search a keyword in Google. Below the results, there is a section called Related searches.
1.Generate keyword ideas.
Keyword ideas are the main topic on which you’re going to find keywords
I Am taking the Fitness and Weight loss niche as an example.
To generate keyword ideas, Head over to a keyword research tool. In my case, I’m using Ahrefs.
I will open the Keyword explorer to generate keyword ideas.
Type some Seed keywords Related to my niche are Fitness, Weight Loss, and run the search.
Seed keywords = A Broad term related to your niche that is 1 or 2 words long
If your niche is Petcare, the seed keywords might be
I will navigate to the phrase match report on the left-hand side to see keywords related to my niche.
You can see the Massive list of 2.6 Million keyword ideas.
If you observe them you will notice a lot of Keyword ideas are irrelevant.
So, I need to Sort Relevant keywords from 2.6 Million keyword ideas
To sort Relevant keywords from All, I will make a list of Relevant keywords to my Seeds.
My niche is Fitness and weight loss, So Some Relevant terms that come to mind are
To make your list long, You should head over to Google auto-suggest.
I will type one of my seeds, and you will see many relevant terms related to your niche.
So, let’s add those relevant terms to our list too.
If Google auto-suggest doesn’t show the expected results, then run the search.
Next, I will scroll to the bottom of the page to see Related searches.
Now we have Relevant terms related to Seeds. Let’s sort the relevant keywords.
Getting Relevant keywords from Keyword ideas
Let’s go back to the Phrase match report
To remove a lot of irrelevant keywords, let’s click on the include filter and paste the comma-separated list of our relevant keywords.
I will also set it to show any words which will narrow down our list to only keywords that contain this list.
And now we have keywords that are relevant to our seeds and the list looks a much better list of 188000 keywords
Let’s set some more filters to get even more targeted keywords.
After, we are going to find 3 types of keywords.
- Low competition
- Backlinks keywords.
- Money keywords.
First, we are going to find low competition keywords.
Low competition keywords.
- Can rank without building tons of Backlinks.
- Gets search traffic faster.
- Link growth will start.
Generally, Low competition keywords are the best choice for absolute beginners and Newbies.
Let’s narrow down our list to some more Low competition keywords by filtering the Volume of 500.
Now, the results are showing much better. To find Low competition keywords let’s, filter maximum Keyword difficulty to something low like 10.
We have a list of keywords that are low competitive and less search volume.
Even though we have some irrelevant keywords, remove them from our list by clicking on exclude filter and I will type some irrelevant keywords like planet.
Since our list looks pretty clean after Applying filters.
I will sort the list by parent topic.
Determines the keywords which can be targeted for the familiar topics.
I will also check the Keyword difficulty of the parent topic too. because sometimes the keyword has less Keyword difficulty.
But, the parent topic has a high keyword difficulty.
So for now, I will quickly sift through this list, and rather than analyzing every keyword, I’m gonna add a checkmark beside keywords that seem an interesting topic to create content.
I will analyze the keywords later.
After I have gone through the first page, I will scroll back to the top and create a list and name it Weight loss.
Then, go through the other pages until you’re satisfied.
Let’s find the keywords that are useful to get backlinks.
Link Bait worthy topics.
- To get quality backlinks.
- To build authority to our pages.
- To increase page rank.
These keywords are specific to rank pages in the top 10.
Get quality backlinks from great authority pages.
Pass page rank by interlinking our pages.
This will help you rank low competition pages, money pages, or both.
Attacking “Linkbait” topics.
- Find pages that have already generated a ton of Backlinks.
- Reverse engineer why they had success.
- Create better content for some skyscraper-styles link building
The way we are going to discover these keywords is by finding pages that have already generated tons of backlinks.
Reverse engineer why they might have had such success.
And take that angle but, create better content for some Skyscraper-styled link building.
So, let’s start by entering some seed keywords in the Keyword explorer
Next, I will go to the Phrase match report to find keywords that contain our seed keywords in the order they are written.
Now, we are moving to the exact opposite of what we did for Low competition keywords to find Link worthy
We are going to set the minimum keyword difficulty score to something high like 70
And the reason why we are doing this because Ahrefs’ keyword difficulty scores are calculated by taking a weighted average number of referring domains pointing towards the top-ranking pages.
Meaning, the higher the KD score, the more links they are pointing at the top 10 pages.
Again, I’m going to sort the keywords list by parent topic to group our list of potential linkbait topics.
Now to remove ultra long-tail keywords in the list, I’m gonna set fit to show keywords only have at least 100 searches per month.
Rather than scanning the keyword ideas column, I’m going to scan the parent topic and that is because we’re looking for topics to create link-worthy topics pieces on rather than keywords to target.
And you will see below are a bunch of branded queries that we probably won’t go after.
Because we are looking for link bait topic ad keywords to create content.
Then we see a couple of Topics on losing weight and losing weight fast.
Based on the SERP for this topic, a well-researched guide with case study might work well to generate links.
Now looking further, we have the parent topic of “fitness tracker” and based on the keyword ideas under this parenting topic.
I’m guessing this has something to do with fitness tracker reviews and comparisons.
Simply the other Meaning of Long tail keywords is Low competition keywords with Reasonable search volume.
Now, since most affiliates aren’t actually buying the products, testing them, reporting back, that’s something I might do to gain a bit of an edge and have plenty of link prospects to reach out to.
Finally are finding money terms.
Now, “Money” terms will vary depending on the nature of the business.
For example, an E-commerce store might want to rank for keywords that have transactional intent like “Buy product name”
And an Affiliate site might want to rank for queries that include words like “best”, “top”, “Comparison”, “Vs”, “Reviews”
So, assuming our fitness and weight loss website monetize through Affiliate commissions
I’ll go to the filterless version of Phrase match report and add those keywords in the include filter.
I’ll also want to set the option to “Any word”. So, I can see all phrases that mention any of these words.
And just like that, I have a massive list of keywords that would be easy plugs for affiliate products like Best fitness tracker, a Best fitness watch and more.
from here you can create your combination of filters to target low competition keywords, keywords with decent search volume or both.
Again, sift through the list, and checkmarks to anything that interests you, and create a new list. I’ll call this list “Weight loss money keywords.”
At this point, you should have a ton of keyword ideas. But not all of them will be worth going after.
2.Identify Search intent.
So let’s move on to the next step which is to identify the search intent of each of the keywords on your list. Search intent means the reason behind the searcher’s query.
If you can’t match what searchers want, don’t go after that keyword. The easiest way to identify search intent is to look at the top 10 ranking pages for your target keyword.
Most of the time, you’ll notice that all or most pages follow the same content format and type.
For example, looking at the top 3 results for “how to lose weight” you can tell just by reading the titles that all the pages are informational blog posts.
If you have a blog then, you can fulfil the search intent for the query like How to lose weight by making a guide on how to lose weight.
There is no proven trick around this and it takes 10 seconds to do so for all keywords that you’re interested in going after and make a note of search intent.
Now, if you set up a list in keyword explorer on the words which affiliate sites use. Instead of googling every single keyword, you can just click on the SERP button to see the top 10 ranking pages.
And infer search intent from titles.
This brings us the next step, which is to assess ranking difficulty.
3.Access Ranking Difficulty.
Now, SEO and ranking in Google is like a Game
The next step is to assess the ranking difficulty
Certain levels are easy to beat. And others before require you to level up before you can beat bigger bosses.
For example, if you couldn’t see the health bar of your opponents, then you’d have no idea what it would take to win.
In the same way, you need to know who you’re up against so you’ll know what it takes to outrank them.
And for that reason, you need SEO metrics to create some sort of predictability in Ranking. The way we assess ranking difficulty is by analysing the SEO metrics of the top 10 ranking pages.
Now, there are 3 things you need to look at.
First are the number of referring domains, which are unique websites linking to the page.
Second is the Authority of the ranking domains.
Third is Topical relevance of the top-ranking pages and websites.
Let’s run through some examples here.
If we look at the SERP for “Weight loss workout for men,” you will see that there aren’t a whole lot of unique websites linking to the pages.
Next is to look at the authority of the ranking domains. And we can do this by using DR or Domain rating metric, which represents the overall strength of a website’s backlink profile.
Looking through the results, you will see these two with low-is Domain Ratings at 34.
Finally, we will look at the relevance of the top-ranking pages as well as their domains as a whole.
Just by looking at the domain names, you can tell that all of them are related to health and fitness. So overall, the top pages come from relevant domains.
Now, when we are looking at topical relevance of the page, we are focusing on a bit of the on-page SEO part. And oftentimes the title will give us enough context on whether they have optimised for your target keyword.
Generally speaking, people tend to use their primary keyword in the title or modified version of it.
Simple steps to find long tail keywords.
An easy way to find long tail keywords is to search for a popular website in site explorer.
So, I will search for Healthline.com in site explorer next, I will go to the top pages report, just beside the keywords column.
Which will show us their pages that get most search traffic and Since, we are talking about topics with tons of long tail keywords, let’s sort the result in descending order.
In order, to identify these longtails topics opportunities you want to look at these columns Traffic, Keywords, Top keywords, Position
Lets, analyze the top pages instead of a checklist to identify the most obvious longtail topic opportunities.
First, the mage must rank in top 5 for their top keyword, next they should rank for lots of keywords to get a good amount of search traffic.
Final, point that the page has significantly more traffic than you’d expect based on their ranking position compared to the search volume of their top keyword.
So, now we have tons of longtail topics that we could create for our website if we are in the health niche.
There is a keyword of healthline.com that has a search volume of 8400 but, the page gets over 100000 search visitors each month.
That is important to note that you should look at referring domains that the page has and this should be a good indication of how many links you will need to get similar rankings and be competitive in search.
Whys should you care as an SEO
By picking topics with more long tail keywords you will generate a lot more organic traffic than the search volume of just the main keyword since you will be ranking for so many another longtail variations.
These long tail topics are ideal for established websites that can or have a history of ranking for head terms.
